As you may have noticed,
the Juryo Game's rules changed a lot since its debut in 2002. After so many changes,
it's time to settle down now! So, after Feginowaka's very right analysis, the JG
is ready to give you the definitive (who knows?) rules:

We will count the points and the players of each division will be classified from the highest to the lowest total of points. When the total is the same for two and more players, the following tiebreakers will be used:
The total of points into each division will be converted to classic sumo scores: we will try to split the table in order to obtain a same number of players who will be kachikoshi than those who will be makekoshi. The creator of Juryo Game, Jeff "Hoshifransu" Morgillo, offered a prize available to Everybody: an NHK Ozumo magazine. The participation is free. In order to avoid a multi-identities winner and to enable to everybody to participate, it has been decided to give different bonus points for each level. Makuuchi players will all receive 7 points from the start of the basho, Juryo players will all have 5 points, Makushita players will all receive 3 points and 2 points for all the Jonokuchi players. That bonus will be added to the total of points and of course, life will be harder for the low ranked players to win the race, but it will still remain possible. It won't change anything into each division's final standings. Now that he is no longer running the game, it is not known if that tradition will continue. The "Super Yusho" can still be won by everyone. The purpose of the Juryo Game is to play with the underdogs of the lower ranks and to put the lights on them. Especially in makushita, there ain't no salary. Too many wrestlers are training hard and the fate is cruel for them, too often. So, come on, the Juryo division (mainly) and the lower divisions too! |
